Opt-Out/Waive

All registered full-time students are required to purchase Austin College’s Student Health Insurance Plan unless proof of comparable coverage is provided.  To waive the Student Health Insurance, click on the “Link” below to complete the online waiver by the June 17, 2024, deadline date for approval for the 2024–2025 plan year.

The PA Students Annual 24-25 online waiver period is 04/15/24 - 06/17/24

You may request to waive out of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) if your alternate insurance health plan meets the following requirements:

  • Medical coverage is currently active
  • Financial Assistance Programs and Disability Programs will not be accepted

If your alternate coverage meets the above minimum requirements, submit electronic copies of the following document(s) with your online waiver request:

  • An electronic copy of the front and back of your health insurance ID card indicating the student as a covered member.
  • Proof of coverage, such as a coverage letter, or certificate may be required in order to verify active coverage.
